New to Klondike?

Learn the table in a few minutes

Learn this classic card game by moving all 52 cards to the four foundations. These six essentials are enough to start playing.

  1. Know the goal

Build each foundation by suit from Ace through King.

  2. Read the table

Seven tableau columns sit below the stock, waste, and four foundations.

  3. Build the tableau

Place cards in descending order with alternating colors; move ordered runs together.

  4. Use empty columns

Only a King, or a sequence led by a King, can move into an empty column.

  5. Work through the stock

Play the top waste card after drawing one or three cards, depending on the mode.

  6. Reveal and finish

Turn over hidden tableau cards and move every suit to its foundation to win.

About Solitaire

Frequently asked questions

What is Solitaire?

Solitaire, also called patience, is a family of card games usually played by one person. In everyday use, “Solitaire” often means Klondike: the classic card game with seven tableau columns, a stock and waste, and four foundations built by suit from Ace to King. Easy Solitaire focuses on this familiar Klondike game.

Is Easy Solitaire free to play online?

Yes. You can play a complete game of classic Klondike Solitaire free in your browser, with no download, registration, or account required. Start a new game above and use familiar features such as undo, regular hints, Game Numbers, Position Codes, and Daily Challenges.

What are the benefits of playing Solitaire?

Solitaire uses attention, pattern recognition, sequencing, and planning. If you like to train your brain with card games and puzzles, a deal can be a light mental workout. Its quiet, familiar rhythm can also offer a calm, focused break that some players find almost meditative.

Can I replay or share a specific game?

Yes. A Game Number recreates the same initial deal. A Position Code goes further by preserving the exact current state of a game already in progress. On a compatible phone with Easy Solitaire installed, a shared link opens the matching deal or position in the app. Otherwise, it opens in the live web game.

Can I choose any Game Number?

Yes. You can enter any Game Number to play that exact deal. A game chosen by number is not guaranteed to be winnable. Keep Auto Analysis on and use the Dead-End notification to learn when the solver confirms that no winning path remains.

Can I choose a difficulty level?

Yes. Easy Solitaire offers six curated difficulty levels: Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert, Master, and Grand Master. Choose the level that fits the kind of challenge you want.

Can I use unlimited free hints?

Yes. You can use unlimited free hints for regular move suggestions. Advanced Solver Hint is different: it analyzes the current position for a winning line and has a daily limit for free users.

What makes Solver Hint different from a regular hint?

A regular hint returns several legal moves you can consider, but some of those moves may lead to a dead end. Solver Hint is available after the solver finds a winning line from the current position, then highlights the next playable move on that line. You can still choose another move and analyze the new position again.

What does Auto Analysis do?

When enabled, Auto Analysis checks the current position in the background after each move. It distinguishes positions confirmed as winnable, confirmed dead ends, positions still being analyzed, and difficult positions that did not reach a conclusion within the selected time.

Which games support solver features?

Auto Analysis and Solver Hint support Draw 1 and Draw 3 Standard games and Daily Challenges. They do not currently support Vegas scoring. Especially complex positions may occasionally remain unresolved within the selected analysis time.

Is my progress synced between web and mobile?

No. Game progress, History, settings, and custom images are stored locally on each device. Shared links can move a particular deal or position between devices, but they do not transfer your History, settings, or personal progress.

Can I play Solitaire offline?

For dependable offline play, use the iOS or Android app. Once the app and its required game resources are installed, core games, local History, Game Numbers, Position Codes, and on-device solver analysis work without a connection. The website and shared links require a connection to open.

What do the mobile apps add?

The iOS and Android apps keep completed and unfinished games together in local History, support your own photos as themes, and can send optional Daily Challenge reminders. They also put Auto Analysis and Solver Hint in your pocket whenever you want a deeper answer.
